Dorrigo is an intriguing timber town, tourist and country community centre for the unique Dorrigo Plateau area, on the North Coast of NSW west of Coffs Harbour. Dorrigo is located about 60 km from Coffs Harbour and 570 km north of Sydney. Dorrigo is the gateway to the escarpment that plunges down from the tablelands to the Bellingen Valley and to Dorrigo National Park. The Dorrigo area is a favourite spot for bushwalking, camping, mountain bike riding, 4WD driving and trail bikes, and lovers of the forest wilderness areas and the great outdoors. There are magnificent views and numerous waterfalls along the Waterfall Way that connects Dorrigo with Bellingen. Dorrigo is a the major service centre and entertainment hub for the tourism industry and the surrounding farmers and graziers and the regional timber industry.
